Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy is at the core of what we do at both Range Northcote and Range Preston. With a philosophy focused on treating the cause, not just the symptoms, we embrace both the art and science of physio to gain insights into your physical health and to maximise your range.

We are an experienced team of physios who are passionate about the profession and stay up to date on the latest treatment options and advice for our clients. Our goal is to improve the health of our wonderful local communities of Northcote, Preston and the surrounding suburbs of Melbourne’s Inner North.

To help you move and feel better, we are committed to honest and authentic communication to help you understand what is causing your symptoms and how long it will take to get better. We will help you navigate the process in order to achieve a  full recovery. This requires persistence and it may seem that once the pain is gone, the injury is gone, however often this is where the recovery process actually begins. We will guide you through to a sustainable recovery.

If you are a private client, you don’t need a GP referral to see us so get in touch with us today.

Our Philosophy

A balanced approach to exercise

A good physical health routine is like a balanced diet; it should include a range of different components. Each week we recommend getting a dose of each of these four types of exercise.

1

Strength Training

Well balanced so as not to create or add to any imbalances. Good examples are functional strength training and resistance training involving lifting, pushing and pulling. We recommend two or more days a week to improve your range.

2

Aerobic Activity

Targeting your cardiovascular system using both steady state and interval training. Examples are walking, running, swimming or circuits. The recommended range is 150-300 minutes a week – we can assist you to develop a balanced program to achieve this.

3

Flexibility, Mobility & Posture

Examples are stretches, mobility exercises, foam rolling, Pilates and yoga. Frequency depends on the individual body type, injuries and your personal goals. The Range team will develop a program best suited for you.

4

Sport & Play

Playing sports is a fantastic way to keep in shape and to put all that strength and flexibility you’ve been working on in action! Agility, skill and multi-plane movement are all part of the mix. We’ve got you covered on a wide range of sports including tennis, football, hockey, basketball, cricket and running.
